Personal Contact Helps Maintain Weight LossStatistics on weight loss are often accompanied by weight regain;
however, a new study found that when individuals have personal contact
with a weight loss counsellor, they are able to maintain the weight loss
much better than without any contact. The results of this study, published
in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that
two and a half years after weight loss, the personal contact group was
more successful at keeping the weight off. The study researchers relate
this success to the notion that along with the participant, the
participant’s counsellor also had an interest in seeing the
outcomes. |
