Your eyes itch, your nose is running,
you’re sneezing, and you’re covered in hives. The enemy known as allergies
has struck again and all you want to do is curl up into a ball of misery.
Here are five things you can do to avoid allergies:
1. Leave the
outdoors outside: Avoid being outdoors, especially early morning and
late evening, for too long and keep your windows closed with the
air-conditioning on. Fans can blow around allergens and stir up
dust.
2. Keep it clean: Ensure that you keep your home clean
- vacuum, mop, and wash sheets and clothes often. Use special covers over
your pillows and mattress.
3. Keep your pets outside:
Especially keep them out of the bedroom! Ensure that they are being
brushed outside and bathed weekly to reduce dander.
4. Avoid
allergy inducing smells: Stay away from such things as tobacco smoke,
perfumes, hair spray, soaps, and laundry detergents.
5. Avoid
damp areas: Stay out of basements and keep mold-prone areas clean and
dry. |
